Asymmetric Geometry. Built-In Pre-Bending. Outstanding Value.
The KAVDO Asymmetric Plate Rolling Machine features an offset three-roll arrangement — the front bottom roll clamps the plate against the top roll while the rear roll provides bending force. This enables direct edge pre-bending without plate reversal, delivering 80% of four-roll efficiency at roughly 60% of the cost.
- Direct pre-bending — no plate flipping required
- Cylinder, cone, arc and multi-radius bending in one machine
- Hardened 42CrMo alloy steel rollers
- PLC digital control; full CNC optional
Key Advantages
The KAVDO asymmetric plate roller combines the pre-bending convenience of four-roll geometry with the cost efficiency of a three-roll design — the smartest investment for productive fabrication shops.
Direct Edge Pre-Bending
The asymmetric roller arrangement positions the front bottom roll directly under the top roll, clamping the plate edge and bending it downward via the offset rear roll — all without removing, flipping or reversing the plate. This eliminates the double-handling inherent in symmetric three-roll machines and reduces pre-bending cycle time by 25–40%.
Best Price-Performance Ratio
The asymmetric design delivers approximately 80% of the pre-bending capability of a four-roll machine at roughly 60% of the cost. With fewer hydraulic circuits and a simpler mechanical structure, it offers the lowest total cost of ownership among all plate rollers with built-in pre-bending — the smart choice for budget-conscious fabricators who refuse to compromise on quality.
Versatile Shape Forming
Independent hydraulic control of each bottom roll enables asymmetric positioning for cone rolling, oval forming, S-curves and multi-radius arcs. The tilting capability of the bottom rolls allows variable taper angles without tooling changes — one machine handles cylinders, cones, ellipses and irregular shapes with ease.
Digital & CNC Control
Standard PLC controller with digital position display for each roll provides accurate, repeatable positioning. Optional full CNC upgrade adds servo-hydraulic positioning (±0.1 mm), programmable multi-step bending sequences and 999 program memory — transforming the machine into an automated production center for repeat jobs.
Heavy-Duty Build Quality
FEA-optimized welded steel frame with stress-relieved box-section construction absorbs maximum rolling force without deflection. Hardened 42CrMo alloy steel rollers (HRC 55–60) with induction-hardened surfaces deliver exceptional wear resistance and consistent bending accuracy over 10+ years of continuous heavy production service.
Easy Operation & Maintenance
The three-roll asymmetric design is mechanically simpler than four-roll alternatives, with fewer hydraulic circuits and moving parts. Operators learn the machine quickly — most achieve production-quality output within hours. Maintenance is straightforward with accessible components, reducing downtime and long-term ownership costs.

Asymmetric Pre-Bending Technology
The asymmetric layout places the front bottom roll directly beneath the top roll for clamping, while the offset rear roll provides bending force. The plate is fed in, edges are pre-bent and continuous rolling completes — all without flipping or reversing. Faster cycles, less effort and a smaller flat zone versus symmetrical designs.

4-Step Plate Rolling Workflow
From flat plate to finished cylinder — the asymmetric design simplifies the forming process with built-in clamping, direct pre-bending and streamlined continuous rolling.
Feed & Clamp
Feed the steel plate between the top roll and front bottom roll. The front bottom roll rises hydraulically to clamp the plate edge firmly against the top roll. Align the plate using the side guide. The control system loads the target bending parameters.
Pre-Bend Leading Edge
With the plate securely clamped, the rear bottom roll rises to the pre-bending position. The top roll rotates to feed the plate forward over the rear roll, bending the leading edge to the target curvature. No plate flipping or reversal is needed.
Continuous Rolling
The rear bottom roll adjusts to the calculated bending position and continuous rolling begins. The plate passes through multiple times as the roll progressively increases curvature until the target diameter is achieved. The trailing edge is pre-bent on the final reverse pass.
Unload & Verify
Open the drop-end bearing housing and slide the finished cylinder off the top roll from the side. Verify the diameter with laser gauge or tape. CNC-equipped machines automatically store proven parameters for instant recall on repeat production runs.
