4-Step Plate Rolling Workflow

From flat plate to finished cylinder — a streamlined process that delivers precision results with minimal setup time and operator effort.

Load & Align Plate

Feed the steel plate between the top roll and side rolls using the rear support arms. Align the plate edge perpendicular to the rollers using the side guide. The hydraulic clamping system secures the plate between the top and bottom rolls.

Pre-Bend Edges

Raise the side rolls to pre-bend the leading edge of the plate. After the first pre-bend, reverse the plate feed direction and pre-bend the trailing edge. This eliminates the flat-end problem and ensures a fully round cylinder without secondary operations.

Continuous Rolling

With both edges pre-bent, raise the side rolls to the calculated bending position and engage continuous forward rolling. The plate passes through the rollers multiple times as the side rolls progressively increase curvature until the target diameter is achieved.

Unload & Inspect

Open the drop-end bearing housing and slide the finished cylinder off the top roll from the side. Measure the diameter with a tape or laser gauge. CNC-equipped machines automatically record the bending parameters for repeat production.
