Frame Hydraulic Press Overview

Rigid Welded Frame. Open Access. Maximum Versatility.

The KAVDO Frame Hydraulic Press (YW41 Series) features a monolithic welded steel frame with finite-element-optimized cross sections, delivering exceptional rigidity and minimal deflection under full tonnage. The open H-frame (or C-frame for smaller models) provides three-sided access for easy workpiece loading, die change and automated feeding integration.

Unlike column-type presses that restrict lateral access, the frame design allows operators and robots to approach from front, left and right — making it the preferred choice for versatile workshop operations, press-fit assembly lines and multi-station automated cells.

  • Monolithic welded frame with FEA-optimized stress distribution
  • Three-sided open access for manual or robotic material handling
  • Proportional pressure & speed control throughout full stroke
  • Built-in ejector cylinder for press-fit and compaction operations
  • PLC + HMI with recipe storage for rapid job changeover

Key Advantages

The KAVDO frame hydraulic press combines a rigid welded structure, servo-hydraulic precision and open-access design — engineered for stamping, bending, straightening, press-fitting, assembly and compaction across diverse industries.

High-Rigidity Welded Frame

The monolithic steel frame is designed using finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize material distribution and minimize deflection. Stress-relieved after welding and CNC-machined on all critical surfaces, the frame maintains parallelism within 0.05 mm under full rated tonnage — outperforming bolted or tieback frame constructions.

Three-Side Open Access

The H-frame (or C-frame) configuration provides unobstructed access from front, left and right sides — enabling easy manual workpiece loading, die change, conveyor integration and robotic pick-and-place. No columns blocking the work zone means faster cycle times and safer operator interaction.

Servo-Proportional Control

Variable displacement piston pump with proportional pressure and flow valves provides stepless adjustment of tonnage (0–100%) and ram speed (approach, pressing, return). Energy-on-demand operation cuts power consumption by 30–50% compared to fixed-pump systems while delivering repeatable process control on every cycle.

Multi-Process Versatility

One machine handles stamping, bending, straightening, press-fitting, flanging, powder compaction, embossing, coining and assembly pressing. Programmable tonnage, stroke depth and dwell time allow instant changeover between processes via stored PLC recipes — ideal for job shops and mixed-production environments.

Integrated Safety Systems

Hydraulic overload protection prevents frame and die damage. Two-hand anti-tie-down controls, optional safety light curtains, pressure relief valves, stroke limit switches and emergency stop circuits ensure full operator protection in compliance with CE machinery directive and ISO safety standards.

Compact Footprint & Low Cost

The frame construction occupies significantly less floor space than equivalent four-column presses. No foundation pit required for models up to 200 tons. Lower machine weight reduces shipping cost, and the simple hydraulic circuit minimizes maintenance requirements — delivering the lowest total cost of ownership in its class.

Machine Structure

Precision-engineered with an FEA-optimized welded steel frame, servo-hydraulic power unit, built-in ejector cylinder and advanced PLC control — every component is designed for rigidity, reliability and versatility.

Frame Hydraulic Press Structure Diagram
  • 1

    Welded Steel Frame Body

Monolithic H-frame constructed from heavy-gauge steel plate, FEA-optimized for maximum rigidity. Stress-relieved and CNC-machined on all mating surfaces to ensure permanent dimensional accuracy.

  • 2

    Main Hydraulic Cylinder

Forged alloy steel piston with hard-chrome plating and precision-honed bore. Delivers full rated tonnage at any point in the stroke with composite sealing for zero internal leakage.

  • 3

    Linear Guide System

Precision-ground linear guides (or adjustable gib-guided slides on larger models) ensure zero lateral play for parallel ram travel and consistent part quality across the entire bolster area.

  • 4

    Ejector Cylinder

Built-in lower ejector cylinder provides programmable ejection force for press-fit, compaction and forming operations. Independently controlled via PLC for precise part removal timing.

  • 5

    Servo-Hydraulic Power Unit

Variable displacement piston pump with proportional pressure and flow valves. Provides stepless speed/pressure control and reduces energy consumption by 30–50% vs. fixed-pump systems.

  • 6

    PLC + HMI Control System

Siemens/Mitsubishi PLC with color touchscreen HMI. Stores 200+ process recipes with programmable pressure, speed, stroke depth, dwell time and ejector sequences for instant changeover.

4-Step Frame Press Workflow

From recipe selection to finished part — every stage is precisely controlled with programmable tonnage, variable speed and integrated ejector operation for consistent, high-quality output.

1

Program & Setup

Select a stored recipe on the HMI touchscreen or create a new one — set tonnage, approach speed, pressing speed, stroke depth, dwell time and ejector force. Install die or tooling and verify safety interlocks. Changeover takes minutes with stored recipes.

2

Load Workpiece

Place blank, part or assembly onto the bolster from any of the three open sides. Sensors confirm material presence and position. For automated lines, the conveyor or robot feeds from left or right while the operator monitors from the front.

3

Press & Form

Ram descends at fast approach speed, transitions to controlled pressing speed on contact. Proportional valves maintain exact tonnage throughout the stroke. Programmable dwell holds pressure at bottom for forming, curing or consolidation as needed.

4

Eject & Unload

Ram returns at high speed. Ejector cylinder pushes finished part off the die. Part is removed manually or via automation. Cycle counter increments and the press is ready for the next workpiece immediately.
